Friends of Art Zone is the non-profit arm of Art Zone with Nancy Guppy and was formed in 2013 to raise money for special projects. Since its inception, Friends of Art Zone has produced a 30-minute documentary on Hedgebrook, the renowned women’s writing retreat on Whidbey Island; presented MUSICIAN, a pop-up gallery of 173 large format portraits of local musicians by photographer Ernie Sapiro; and shot the band Awesome in front of a live audience to create a 90-minute concert. Friends of Art Zone receives fiscal sponsorship/501c3 status, under the Shunpike umbrella.
